Overview: What is a Network Campaign?

A Network Campaign enables advertisers, agencies and station groups to create campaigns that run on a network of radio stations.  In this context, a “network of stations” is defined as more than one station on the TagStation platform.

The key to connecting a network campaign with an on-air spot is a special snippet of text included in traffic instructions sent to the station. We call this snippet of text the "NextRadio Ad ID."

The NextRadio Ad ID must be added to the "Artist" or "Title" field of the spot, when the spot is loaded into automation (likely by Production).  For stations using Maestro automation, the network campaign code should be entered into the "Agency Tape" field.

When the NextRadio Ad ID is implemented properly and the spot airs, TagStation recognizes the relationship between the audio and the associated network campaign, and delivers the visual and interactive enhancements.

Here is an example of a NextRadio Ad ID that would be included in traffic instructions sent to a local station:

NR/A04270148715

So when it comes to a national campaign - the local stations do not need to do anything within TagStation. Instead, Traffic and Production play the critical role, as described above.

Attached at the bottom of this forum post is a sample of Traffic Instructions with the NextRadio Flag, as well as a screenshot of the NextRadio Flag entered into the local automation system.

Four Easy Steps To Implement a National Campaign

Step 1: Receive Traffic Instructions

When an advertiser is running a Network Campaign through TagStation, the local station will receive the spot audio and traffic instructions that contain the "NextRadio Ad ID."

Step 2: Load Spot into Automation

Load the spot into the automation system as you would normally do.

Step 3: Replace "Artist" or "Title" Field Text with the NextRadio Ad ID

The NextRadio Ad ID must be added to the "Artist" or "Title" field of the spot, when the spot is loaded into automation (likely by Production).  For stations using Maestro automation, the NextRadio Ad ID should be entered into the "Agency Tape" field.

Please note that the NextRadio Ad ID can be placed anywhere in the "Artist" or "Title" field as long as the alpha-numeric string is uninterrupted.

Step 4: Schedule the Spot According to Traffic Instructions

Set up the flight dates for the spot as you normally would; everything else is handled by TagStation.

Each time the spot plays, TagStation will recognize the NextRadio Ad ID and send the campaign inventory associated with the spot to receiving devices like NextRadio and HD displays that support Artist Experience.
